Rose of Tralee 2017
The Pale Moon will be rising over the Kingdom of Kerry from August 16th-22nd. The International Rose of Tralee Festival is one of the best known international events in the Irish Summer Calendar. While the selection of the Rose of Tralee in the Festival Dome remains the highlight of the festivities, there are lots more reasons to make the trip to Tralee.
Wear your dancing shoes…
There will be stages on Denny Street and in the Square. A host of musicians will entertain festival goers over the course of the weekend. Town Park is going to be transformed into Family Town. Daytime fun and gamers will keep the younger audience enthralled. Furthermore Birds Funfair and Fossetts Circus will be on hand to provide additional entertainment.
Foodies can enjoy the Taste Kerry Food Expo in the Festival Dome on Saturday 19th. Entry is free and the best of local produce will be there to sample.
Parade of Roses
Always a highlight, the Parade of Roses takes place at 8.30pm on Saturday. Tickets to the International Rose Ball have sold out. So this is your chance to see the Roses in person.
The Festival Dome, Rose of Tralee HQ
The Festival Dome will be a hive of activity all week. Ever entertaining, Nathan Carter will take to the stage on Wednesday night. Fashionista’s are in for a treat on Sunday 20th. The Holman-Lee agency are presenting a Fashion Show showcasing the best designers from home and abroad.
Anyone not lucky enough to be in Kerry can tune in to RTE on August 21st and 22nd to see which will be crowned this year’s Rose of Tralee. However, if you can make the trip to Kerry, you will have a week to remember.
