New Year’s Festival Dublin
Dublin is set to see out the old and ring in the new in style this New Year’s Eve. The New Year’s Festival Dublin will bring two days and one night of partying, music and magic to the Capital. Roll on 2018!
Matinee – Countdown to Midnight Moment Performance
Prepare to be amazed… Gravity-defying, jaw-dropping antics from Heliosphere’s high flying acrobats and FLYBOARDERS will take place on the River Liffey from 6.30-7.00 pm.Suitable for all ages, this is going to be the perfect start to the New Year Celebrations. 3Countdown Concert
Then it’s on to the big Countdown. Who better than Kodaline to see off 2017. Having had an epic year, including a critically acclaimed set at the Glastonbury Festival, this is a band that are currently riding the crest of a wave. ‘High hopes’, ‘All I want’, ‘The One’ – these are sure to be the anthems of the night. With Hudson Taylor and Keywest supporting, we defy you not to have a brilliant time. The event takes place on Custom House Quay. Tickets are €45 and available here. Liffey Lights Midnight Moment
On the opposite bank of the River on George’s Quay a truly amazing spectacle will unfold at 11.30pm. Up to 100 aquabeams will dance across the night sky, performing in time to an original musical score. Heliosphere’s high flying acrobats are back with an unbelievable aerial performance. Joining them are the FLYBOARDERS who will perform a daring aquatic and aerial stunts. With the Customs House lit-up as a backdrop, your first Snapchat/Insta story of 2018 is going to be hard to top… This is a free event but must be booked in advance. Find out more here.
3New Year’s Day Celebrations
For a fantastic start to the New Year, head back down to the Customs House Quay between 12 and 4pm on New Year’s Day. The FLYBOARDERS are back, and they are just as mesmerising in daylight. In addition, there will be lots of street-entertainers keeping all the family amused. The ever popular 3New Year’s Day Concert will feature the Garda Band, the Line Up Choir, Hit Machine Drummers along with many other brilliant performers.
