Pencils at the ready…. National Drawing Day is on Saturday 19th May.

Dublin

  • National Museum of Ireland :  Archaeology – Storyboard How The Ardagh Chalice Was Lost & Found!

Join award-winning children’s illustrator Mark Wickham to storyboard how the Ardagh Chalice was discovered. You will need to booking in advance. Find out more here.
 

  • Rathfarnham Castle – Drawing Day

You are invited to draw and sketch in the elegant surroundings of Rathfarnham Castle. Then stop off at the art table and add your Family Portrait to the themed pop-up exhibition. And join the themed art tour. Best of all? Admission is Free! Find out more here.
 

  • National Gallery of Ireland – Drawing Day

The National Gallery of Ireland will be celebrating drawing and creativity, with events and activities for all ages. There is a Sensory Session in the morning. This is a  tailored family session which will appeal to children with heightened sensory awareness and is ASD friendly. There is life drawing workshops for teens and adults. And lots more besides. Waterford

  • Garter Lane – OFFSKETCH Waterford

This is a free Sketching Tour of Waterford City on National Drawing Day as part of Waterford Architecture Festival. It is suitable for all ages and abilities. However, booking is essential.  Find out more here.

  • Crawford Art Gallery – National Drawing Day 2018

Whether you are an absolute beginner or a seasoned sketcher, the team at the Crawford Gallery will help you find your inner artist. Find out more here.
 

Leitrim

  • The Dock – Drawing Day

The Dock will have three different workshops to let you discover, explore and experiment with materials and techniques. The workshops are free and led by artists Jessica Kelly, Melissa Doran and Wayne O Connor. Find out more here.
 

Wexford

  •  Presentation Centre – Another Look at Drawing

In Enniscorthy they will celebrate National Drawing Day 2018, by experimenting with new, contemporary approaches to drawing. There is no right or wrong process here. And children of all skill levels are welcome to join in and create. In this workshop, the Presentation Centre will invent new, unique ways to draw, re-thinking the traditional processes, and have a great time doing it! Find out more here.
 

Kilkenny

  • Butler Gallery Drawing Day

There is a fantastic day planned in Kilkenny to celebrate National Drawing Day.  The event extends across the grounds of Kilkenny Castle, offering a range of creative and colourful artist-led outdoor workshops. This FREE event is open to people of all ages, Butler Gallery National Drawing Day offers everyone the opportunity to indulge their creative side.  Activities will be taking place both indoors and outdoors and in case of bad weather.
