A Hullabaloo in Offaly
It’s the Mid-term break finally. The lucky children of Co. Offaly (and their parents) are in for a real treat this week. The Hullabaloo Festival takes place in Birr, Clara and Edenderry from 1st – 4th November. And it’s going to be fun and games all the way. Here’s a taster of what’s on…
Clowning Around
The Little Circus is a fun-filled workshop for toddlers that involves bouncing, balancing and bubbles. Suitable for ages 3-6, there are three chances to participate in Birr, Clara and Edenderry.
Or how about a family show that will have everyone in stitches. The amazing Fanzini Brothers have put together a show that involves giant inflatable rings, kazoos, slapstick, dancing, horses and themselves in their noble quest for laughs, truth and foolishness. Catch them in Birr on Wednesday, Clara on Wednesday or Edenderry on Thursday
Crafty Children
Want to make use out of that mountain of odd socks and keep the kids entertained at the same time? The crafty people at Hullabaloo will give them the skills to make their own sock puppets. Not only that, they will also teach them secret puppeteer tricks to make their puppet come alive. That’s November’s rainy days taken care of! Again, there are three sessions, in Clara, Birr and Edenderry. Happy Days!
Movie Makers if the Future
Any fans of Wallace and Gromit will absolutely love Claymation. This is a three hour workshop for 7-9 year olds that will teach them how make a stop motion animation. The finished films will be screened as part of the Hullabaloo! Showcase at Edenderry Town Hall on Friday. This workshop is amazing value at €5. And it could be the best investment you’ll ever make. Fast-forward 20 years to the Oscar’s Red Carpet and you’ll say it started at Hullabaloo!
