4 Events to Inspire – Supporting Women
Nobody has it easy all the time. Regardless of your gender, marital status or professional standing there will always be times in your life when a little bit of support can make all the difference.
Women in business experience a few unique challenges. The marriage bar in the public service was only removed in July 1973. We don’t have an established tradition of supporting women in their career paths. Time off for maternity leave often impedes promotions. A study, commissioned by The 30% Club in 2016 revealed that even at the most junior level of management, women only occupy 34 per cent of positions. Furthermore, their representation falling significantly at each subsequent stage up the career ladder.
Events to Inspire
But there are moves afoot… Several groups are actively working to support women at all stages in their careers. New mothers, young entrepreneurs or established career women can all benefit from some great events that are happening this Autumn around the country.
