Wexford Sinfonia was formed in 1993 with Fergus Sheil as conductor and we are delighted to welcome him back to this year’s opera gala with four extraordinary singers from the National Opera Studio.

All joining us, all the way from Dublin in our upcoming March concert is; Amy Ní Fhearraigh (soprano) - recently performing in Madama ButterflyThe Magic Flute and in This Hostel Life. The second of our singers joining us is Rachel Croash (Soprano) - recently performing in It’s all about like……, Madama Butterfly, The Magic Flute and This Hostel Life. The third of our singers is Andrew Gavin (tenor) - recently making his Irish National Opera debut in 2018 as Curzio in The Marriage of Figaro. Also performing in The Magic Flute and This Hostel Life. Last, but not least, Robert McAllister (bass-baritone) - making his company debut as Luther in Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann in 2018, also performing in Madama Butterfly, The Magic Flute and This Hostel Life

Sun 31 March at 3pm

Pieces in this year’s performance include opera extracts from Bajazet, The Magic Flute, L'elisir d'amore, La cenerentola, La sonnambula, Roméo et Juliette, Manon, I capuleti e i montecchi, Don Pasquale, La fille du regiment and Carmen. The instrumentalists, professional, semi-professional and amateur players, are drawn from all over the South East, and even come from as far afield as Dublin and Cork. We hope you enjoy our afternoon music extravaganza.
