In order to continue to make the National Gallery of Ireland's collections and exhibitions more accessible to audiences throughout Ireland, a programme of illustrated talks will see Emil Nolde: Colour is Life go beyond the gallery walls and out into the community.
In partnership with regional art centres around the country, a series of free illustrated talks on Emil Nolde's life and work will take place for the duration of the exhibition. Delivered by a member of the education team, these hour-long talks will give those who wish to visit the exhibition in Dublin a wonderful introduction to what they’ll experience, while giving those who can’t make it to the exhibition the opportunity to see and hear about these unique works.
Thurs 17 May at 11.30am, admission free - booking required.
The illustrated talk at The Dock will be delivered by Shane Morrissy. Shane is graduate of University College Dublin, where he completed degrees in both Art History and Commerce, and Trinity College Dublin, where he completed a Masters in Textual and Visual Studies. His academic writing on typography has been published in the Information Design Journal. His doctoral research examines the relationship between continental Modernism and the posters of the Works Progress Administration.
