Let’s Go Fly a Kite -Dublin Kite Festival 2018
Clontarf has been the scene of a historical battle or two over the years. But on Sunday 10th June the battle takes to the skies. People from all over the country will be descending on North Bull Island for the Dublin Kite Festival. Expect to see dazzling colours and acrobatic delights as these kites swoop and soar. And as you admire the acrobatic displays, be sure to check out the land-based activities too.
Free Entertainment All Day
The organisers have thought of everything for the Dublin Kite Festival 2018. There is free entertainment all day long to provide a soundtrack to the kite flying. There will be music, games and kite-making workshops. Deric Hartigan, better known as the TV3 Weatherman will be there to keep the atmosphere electric. Face painting will ensure the little ones provide plenty of photo opportunities. And if you get hungry there is a food village to tempt you.
You can bring, buy or make your own kite to fly on the day, As you fly your kite don’t worry if the wires get jumbled or the kite crashes to the sand. There are kite experts on hand to get you airborne again. Or to see the experts, why not attend the flight demonstrations by master kite fliers. And for the adrenaline junkies, there will be professional riders demonstrating the skills of buggy and land-kiting.
So bring the kids, or round up the friends. You will be creating memories at this unique festival which is only a short trip from the city centre.
