Dublin at Christmas with Dublin City FM
We had a lovely visit to Dublin City FM to talk about all things InspireMe. But naturally all our conversations lead to events. And with so many great events happening in Dublin at Christmas we’ve put together a selection to keep you entertained over the festive season.
Lots to do in Dublin at Christmas
Take a break from the office and celebrate the Winter Solstice at the National Museum on Kildare St on Thursday 21st at 1pm. See how the shortest day of the year was marked in prehistoric Ireland. For more details see here.
There are free Christmas activity trails for families at the NMI Decorative Arts and History Collins Barracks throughout December. A perfect way to entertain the troops between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Find out more here.
Or for the green-fingered among us, head along to the National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin. On Saturday the 23rd there will be a guided walk exploring the history, myths and superstitions surrounding Yuletide plants. More details here.
Christmas Concerts
The superb St Patrick’s Cathedral Choir is performing The Snowman at 4pm Saturday 23rd. This is a free event. But you can donate on the day to the Laura Lynn Foundation. A perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of the shops. Find out more here.
Moya Brennan will be performing Christmas Classics with a traditional twist in Monkstown Parish Church on Thursday 21st. Find out more here.
Theatre for Everyone
At InspireMe.ie we love promoting events and venues that are especially adapted for those with special needs. The fantastic production of ‘Tracks in the Snow’ at Temple Bar’s Ark Theatre will have a touch tour prior to the show on Friday 29th. Find out more here.
New Year Festival
The New Year’s Festival will ring in 2018 with a bang. Expect colourful aerial and aquatic acrobats, fireworks and music galore. Find out more here.
This is just a tiny selection of the wonderful events happening around Dublin at Christmas. Be sure to sign up to keep up to date on what’s on.
