Dip in the Nip 2018
Have you ever gone skinny-dipping in the Atlantic Ocean*? Now’s your chance to strip off, take a dip and show cancer who’s boss.
For the ninth year in a row Hand in Hand’s Dip in the Nip takes place at a secret location on a beach in Galway. This fun event will raise vital funds to allow the charity to provide families across Ireland with the support they need at the most difficult time imaginable.
In 2006 a group of volunteers in Galway started a charity that is now known as Hand in Hand. They provide the families of children with cancer with much-needed practical support. Whether it’s support with childcare or a professional cleaning service, their help provides families who need it with the means to deal with what’s really important – caring for their children.
No family should ever have to know about the hardship that follows the diagnosis of cancer in their child. One in every three hundred children will be diagnosed with cancer before their 19th birthday. Every year over two hundred children in Ireland receive a cancer diagnosis. Behind these statistics are kids spending weeks in hospital beds, parents consumed with grief and fear and siblings trying to grow-up.
