5 Things to Do This Week
Cork International Film Festival
4 – 14 November, Cork
.Cork International Film Festival (CIFF) is Ireland’s first and largest film festival and a local, national and international celebration of cinema. It runs for 12 days in November each year in Cork City, and online via its Digital Festival Platform.
CIFF’s mission is to present Ireland’s most exciting, diverse, and ambitious annual film festival, connecting and stimulating audiences and artists through a carefully curated selection of the best films, to create a unique shared cultural experience, rooted in Cork, open to the world
National Circus Festival of Ireland
4 – 7 November, Kerry
NCFI offers a place where people can learn to fly, to defy gravity and to move with poetic grace and beauty. They offer hope where ordinary people can do extraordinary things, create community where once there was disparate unconnected groups.
NCFI began in 2001 as a way to connect people together. People with a shared passion and love for circus. Since then they have grown to be Ireland’s largest and representative circus festival and one of the most exciting festivals in Ireland.
Passion, dreams, magic, poetry, making the impossible possible are all parts of our world. Risk is a big part of circus. And the things their artists do are literally death defying. Audiences come to circus to be amazed, to see the artists walk the line of life and death, to live life on the edge, to do the things they would never dare to do.
Undoubtedly, the festival has altered the cultural fabric of Tralee. Circus is a gateway art form, bringing people to the wonder and joy of the arts
