We are more than half way through the Advent Calendar and excitement is building. There are lots of great festive events happening online and around the country. Here’s our pick of what’s happening…

FESTIVAL: TULCA 2020 – The Law is a White Dog

TULCA Festival of Visual Arts in Galway have a super the programme for this year’s festival, The Law is a White Dog curated by Sarah Browne. Open daily from 12-6pm until 18 December 2020. The exhibition programme features 12 artist presentations, 7 of which are new commissions, and 2 artists (Gernot Wieland and Rory Pilgrim) whose work is being shown in Ireland for the first time.

PANTO: Beauty and the Beast – Streamed Event

Watergate Kilkenny may not be able to bring panto to the their stage this December but instead they will bring the excitement of panto to you….Oh Yes They Will! Loosely based on the Disney classic ‘Beauty and the Beast’. This ‘tale as old as time’ will warm your heart as we watch one of the worlds greatest love stories unfold live at the Watergate! However, be warned their panto may have quite a few unexpected surprises!!

MUSIC: Cáca Milis Christmas Online Cabaret

Celebrate Christmas with the crew at Wexford Arts Centre as Helena Mulkerns presents the annual Cáca Milis Christmas Cabaret, bringing you song, music, dance, a short film and classic cabaret. Sit back with your mince pies and mulled wine after the Christmas shop and enjoy this evening of the arts, with a Christmas flavour as they kick off the final few days before the holiday.

MUSIC: Holly Jolly Christmas: Live Online Sing-along

Join the Roscommon Arts Centre for this free festive family sing-along on Sunday at 11:00 with the super energetic Kyle Riley from Little Folk Music who will be belting out lots of well known festive tunes for you all to join in with. From Red Nosed Reindeers, to Santa Claus’ songs of all shapes and sizes, this feel good event is the perfect festive start to your Sunday morning, so turn up the volume, turn on the Christmas tree lights, grab your Santa hat and join in the ‘Holly Jolly’ sing-along.

MOVIES: Drive in Christmas Movies in Dun Laoghaire

dlr Christmas Drive-In Movies have a selection of great Christmas movies showing at the Ferry Terminal, Harbour Road, Dún Laoghaire. Family favourites including Home Alone and Arthur Christmas will guarantee festive cheer this weekend. Don’t forget the popcorn!
