20 Country Music Gigs for Summer 2018

 
Fans of Country Music are spoilt for choice this summer, with gigs happening all over Ireland. The big name acts like Nathan Carter, Louise Morrissey, Michael English, Cliona Hagan and Derek Ryan are amongst the hardest working musicians in the business. And lots of new talent will be rocking festivals and fields with the best of tunes.  Here’s our highlight’s of this Summer’s Country Music Gigs. Country Music Gigs – May

 
 

• The Darnley Lodge Hotel, Athboy, Meath –  23rd May

A Night with the Stars – Red Hurley, Margo, Declan Nurney, TR Dallas Gary Gamble and Matt Leavy will entertain for this unmissable night. Find out more here.
 
 

• INEC, Killarney, Kerry –  25th May

• Killashee House Hotel, Naas, Kildare –  31st May

Michael English & his band are performing a Charity Concert in aid of The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation. Special Guest on the night will be the legendary Brendan Shine. Find out more here.
 

• Tuar Ard Arts Centre, Moate, Westmeath –  31st May

Country Music Gigs – June

 

• Country Music and Americana Festival, Ballinamore. Leitrim – 1st -4th June

The June Bank Holiday brings 4 days and nights of the biggest names in Irish Country along with an American Car Show, Western Horse Show, Line Dancing, Jiving competitions, a Food Village, 5 Saloon Bars and fun for the whole family. The incredible line up will include performances by John Molloy Music, Sabrina Fallon Music and Art, Robert Mizzell and Patrick Feeney Country Singer on Friday, the 1st of June. Saturday 2nd June will see Jimmy Buckley, Ward Sisters Music, Johnny Brady and Mike Denver taking the main stage. Sunday 3rd of June will have performances by Ciarán Rosney Music, Aoife McDonagh, Owen Mac, Stuart Moyles, Lisa McHugh and Derek Ryan Music. Find out more here.
 

• Ballydehob Country Music Festival, Ballydehob, Cork – 1st -4th June

Also on the June Bank Holiday Weekend, this year’s festival features another brilliant lineup of artists performing in various venues around the village. With free gigs in the bars to exciting star events in the community hall, it’s going to be a blast! Bernie Heaney will be performing on stage on Friday night supported by Two Mikes & Family Ties. And on Sunday Michael English and the Two Mikes are back in the hall for another great night of music. Find out more here.

• Midlands Country Music Festival, The Well, Moate, Co. Westmeath 1st – 10th June.

The Bank Holiday also sees the start of 10 epic nights of Country Music Gigs in The Well. With performances from Jimmy Buckley, Mike Denver, Michael English, Patrick Feeney, Bagatelle, Dereck Ryan, Robert Mizzell and many more – Moate will rock! Find out more here.
 

• Ballyroan 2018, Laois – 2nd – 3rd June

‘Ballyroan 2018’ is a lovely two day Country Music Festival. The Headline Act on Sunday Night is Johnny Brady with ever popular Mr “Hit The Diff” himself Marty Mone providing support. • Midsummers Day with The Stars, Roscommon Racecourse 24th June

Shannonside Northern Sound’s Midsummers Day with the Stars returns to Roscommon Racecourse for its sixth year. • The Legends of American Country Show, Hawkswell, Sligo – 24th June

Following a sell-out UK tour in 2017, Europe’s No. 1 country music tribute show makes its way to Sligo. This 2018 tour will showcase the ever-popular songs of Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Kenny Rogers as well as the hits of George Jones, Charley Pride, Patsy Cline and Don Williams. • Benbulben Country Music Festival, Sligo – 8th July

All roads will lead to Grange Co Sligo on Sunday, 8th July 2018 when some of Ireland’s biggest Country and Irish acts present an incredible day of entertainment at Monsignor Hynes GAA Pitch. • Monaghan Country Music Festival, Monaghan – 12th -15th July

One of the highlights of the summer, the Monaghan Country Music Festival has a stellar line up for 2018. For a weekend with great atmosphere, friendly crowds and the best of country music, this is a festival not to miss. • Cut Loose Country Music Festival. Holycross, Tipperary 15th July

• Summerfest Carlow – 21st -22nd July

This is Carlow’s first Country Music Festival weekend. The festival will see two nights of live entertainment and dance to Ireland’s top Country stars, inside one of Ireland’s largest marquees. • Farney Country Music Festival – Carrickmacross, Monaghan – 4th – 6th August

The Annual Farnet Country Music Festival takes place in the marquee in the Fiddlers Car Park in Carrickmacross. This year’s lineup includes Michael English, Derek Ryan and Mike Denver. Find out more here.
