Limerick 4th- 7th May 

 
Riverfest must be top of the list for things to with children for the May Bank Holiday weekend. Highlights of the festival include Riverfest on the Shannon, the Riverfest BBQ Competition, the Riverfestival village in Arthur’s Quay Park. Finally there is a spectacular fireworks display planned. Drop-In Family Sessions

Drop-In Family Sessions At The National Gallery Of Ireland are a fun and creative way to pass a few hours in Dublin City Centre. They are on each Sunday and no booking is required. Just pop along and get creative. Find out more here.
 

Clare – 6th May

 
IFA are hosting eight Let’s Talk and Walks events in May, all around the country, in support of the Green Ribbon campaign. The aim is to get people talking openly about mental health and to break the stigma of silence associated with mental health. This walk in beautiful Ballycuggaran Woods is the perfect opportunity to get the kids out for a few hours, have a chat and get that all important ‘fresh air’. Find out more here.

Baby Disco

This is the first year of the Oranmore Arts Festival and the organisers have put together a superb selection of activities for all ages. The lovely coastal town will celebrating their community and the arts all weekend.  Most events are free, and the ones that incur a charge sound like they will be well worth it. The Midleton Art Festival has a brilliant programme of events lined up to keep children of all ages entertained. There will be a Junkyard Playground, a huge Kindred Drum Circle, illustration demos and lots more besides. Find out more here.

The town of Westport will be buzzing for the third acoustic yard music festival.  With a busking competition and a free open air concert this should be a rockin’ day out for all the family. Find out more here.

Red Bull Flugtag

We are all used to seeing our kids perform daredevil and frankly terrifying stunts. Well why not let them take a day off from their reckless antics and watch the experts. The Red Bull Flugtag will leave them mesmerised. Let’s just hope they don’t try to recreate it at home!! Find out more here.
 

Donegal – 27th May

This is a adventure for the older kids. Climbing Mount Errigal would be a fantastic achievement for any child. But the fact that it’s a fundraiser for Liquid Therapy in Bundoran for those with Autism, should mean they will burst with pride when they get to the summit. Adults are €10 but kids go free.
